What is Effective Leadership?

Effective leadership is about having empowering vision and mission and then translate those vision and mission into actions plan so that those vision and mission can be realized. How can you be a good leader if you don’t have such an empowering vision and mission to inspire your followers? You can be a good leader only if you have something better in your mind already and communicate those vision and mission to your follower.

How to inspire the followers to follow the leader?

The leader must already something which is clear in his/her mind eyes. It is something that far better than the present condition and the ability to translate the leader’s empowering vision and mission into massive and coordinated actions. The leaders must have the ability to communicate the vision and mission in such effective way and therefore enable the followers to do the right things to achieve those vision and mission. Good leader is a good communicator.

How to be a good communicator?

To be a good communicator you must be a good listener. Great leaders have the ability to listen and understand the aspiration of the followers. When the leaders are willing to listen, the followers will feel appreciated. Building rapport between leaders and followers in the essential first steps. A good leader is a good listener.

What Do You Mean by Empowering Leadership?

Empowering leadership is the leadership principles that enable the followers to achieve their the collective potential and at the same time contribute to the achievement of individual potential. The key to empowering leadership is the ability to balance between achieving the collective potential and individual potential. In this case, a leader must understand the uniqueness of each individual then use that uniqueness to achieve the collective goals. Balancing individual and collective needs is the factor that will empower tho followers to get the jobs done.

What are the principles of effective leadership?

Leader must be honest and straight forward. A good leader must make the decision based on the true-north principles. Everything that a leader do will be judged by the followers. A good leader will lead by giving the example, by walking the talk, by making and keeping promises. Integrity is the number one principle in effective leadership. You can be a great leader if you are a man of integrity who can keep the promise you’ve made. You must lead by giving great examples to your followers. You simply cannot ask your followers to quit smoking if you are smoking.

Yes, I think to climb until the peak you need healthy physical stamina. You need a lot of physical practices.

I think Gianyar is a great place to visit as tourism villages.

I went to Jakarta. I bought a computer.

I bought the computer in Mangga Dua Square. I bought Asus notebook computer. Asus as a great brand name. Asus gives two years guarantee for the notebook products.

Lesson Four.

Hi everybody, this is Misterduncan in England.

Are you happy? I hope so!
I talked about saying “please” and “thank you”.
Today we will look at the different ways of replying to these sentences.
Making your response.

When a person asks you a question you will normally give a reply.
A sentence with the word “please” in it, normally needs a response.
The reply can be either yes, no, or maybe.
They could also be much longer sentences including a reason for the reply or an added condition.

“Please can I watch some TV?”
“Yes, but only for an hour.”
“Please can I watch some TV?”
“No, you cannot, you have to do your homework.”
“Please can I watch some TV?”
“May be after dinner you can.”

“Can I please go out to play with my friend?”
“Yes you can …”
“Can I please go out to play with my friend?”
“No you cannot, it is too late.”
“Can I please go out to play with my friend?”
“Maybe, after you have done your chores.”

“Please may I leave the room?”
“You may.”
“Can I please go out to play with my friend?”
“No, sorry you may not.”
“Can I please go out to play with my friend?”
“Maybe after you have finished eating your food.”

“Could I please have some ice cream?”
“Yes you can, but not too much.”
“Could I please have some ice cream?”
“No you can’t, you’ve had some already today.”
“Could I please have some ice cream?”
“Maybe later, if you are good.”
“Could I please have some ice cream?”

Of course you can just reply with a simple “Yes”, “No”.

But if you do say “no”, then the other person will probably ask …”why not?”

Saying “no” to someone can be a very difficult thing to do.

There are many different ways of responding to a requent, which we will be taking a cloner look at in a later lesson.

Replying to “thank you”.
After you have said “thank you”, the other person may offer you a response.

“Thank you very much for the meal.”
“It’s my pleasure.”
“Thanks a lot for letting me stay with you.”
“You are very welcome.”
“Thank you for the special award.”
“You deserve it.”
“That was a great meal … cheers!”
“It’s quite alright.”
“I appreciate your kindness … thank you so much.”
“The pleasure is all mine.”
“Oh thank you for the lovely birthday present, it must have been expensive … oh you should’t have.”
“That’s OK … You are worth it!”

Saying “please” and “thank you” are very simple actions, and by using them, you are showing that you are a polite person who is willing to show respect to other people, which … is quite a nice thing really.

In this lesson we will look at two actions which many of us do although maybe not as often as we should.
Today we will talk about sayang … ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you’.

SAYING PLEASE

we usually say ‘please’ when asking for something,
or as a polite (nice) way of saying yes to an offer:

‘Please can I watch some TV?’
‘Can I please go out to play?’
‘May I please leave the room?’
‘Could I please have some ice-cream.’
‘Would you like some ice-cream?’
‘Oh, yes please!’
‘Do you want something to eat?’
‘Yes, I would please!’
‘Oh please, that would be great!’

The word please can be used to show satisfaction and pleasure.

‘I’m pleased with my new house.’
‘This job pleases me.’
‘Your music gives me pleasure.’
‘I’m very pleased to meet you.’

From those few examples you can see that
‘please’ and ‘pleasure’ are closely related in origin
but are sometimes used in completely different ways.
If something makes you pleased,
you can say that you feel …

uplifted
perked
chuffed
gladden
overjoyed
over the moon

SAYING THANK YOU

The action of saying ‘thank you’
or as a way of acknowledging an act of kindness.
We say ‘thank you’ to show our appreciation.
By saying ‘thank you’,

You … show your gratitude
You express your appreciation.
You acknowledge the kindness.
You return the generosity verbally.
You offer your sincerest thanks.
You are grateful.

There are many ways to say ‘thank you’ …

‘Thank you.’
‘Thank you very much.’
‘Thanks a lot’
‘Thank you so much.’
‘Thanks a bundle’
‘You are too kind.’
‘Thanks ever such a lot.’
‘Cheers’
‘Ta very much!’

Sometimes we may express surprise and joy,
as well as showing our thanks.

‘Wow! how kind …’
‘Thank you!’
‘That’s good of you …’
‘Cheers’
‘I don’t know what to say …’
‘Thanks a lot!’
‘I’m overwhelmed …’
‘Thank you so much!’
‘What can I say?’
‘You are the best!’
‘Thank you very much!’

Saying ‘thank you is the best way
to show your gratitude to another person.
It is a polite thing to do.
To acknowledge someone’s kindness is a nice thing to do.
And don’t forget …
… kindness creates more kindness.
